When Auckland International Airport constructed a new 11,470m2 manufacturing, warehouse and office facility for Coca-Cola Amatil at The Landing business park, MSC undertook structural and civil engineering design and documentation.
This project for Auckland International Airport Limited comprised 10,800m2 warehouse and manufacturing space plus 470m2 two-storey office accommodation.
The purpose-built warehouse expanded the beverage company’s existing manufacturing and warehouse footprint and enabled the company to consolidate a number of operations onto one site.
The warehouse structure uses tapered portal frames at 9.8m centres that are designed to clear span 65m. The knee height is 9.0m. The floor is a conventional slab on grade with sawcuts and movement joints.
The office accommodation structure uses 150mm thick Comflor flooring supported on steel beams and precast panels. Lateral bracing is provided by portals.
