MSC was engaged to provide civil and structural engineering design for Ballance Agri-Nutrients new service centre in Reporoa.
Working alongside contractors Haydn + Rollett, MSC provided civil and structural design for this new state-of-the-art service centre for Ballance Agri-Nutrients.
The design + build contract replaced an ageing facility to meet the changing needs of the manufacturing company.
The project in Reporoa is one of several regional hubs and was built in place of an ageing facility to modernise operations. It features next level automation including an extensive conveyor belt system. The site, located in the middle of pastureland beside State Highway 5 also features an office, which serves as a standalone operation in the region.
As fertiliser products tend to be particularly corrosive, the project team had to be innovative and came up with multiple ways to combat the problem.
The structral design allowed for interior and exterior concrete slabs that are fibre reinforced to provide tight crack control.
