When a new Bunnings store was built on the corner of an-already busy intersection on Auckland's North Shore, MSC Consulting was responsible for the design of new signalised intersection and road widening to improve traffic flow associated with the store.
The works associated with the new Bunnings store involved widening the road carriageways to provide for four lanes on Archers Road and four lanes on Poland Road.
The new road widening affected levels, and existing vertical crossings were rebuilt. It also involved undergrounding the high voltage Vector lines and diverting or lowering a number of in-ground services.
The project required a high level of communication with Council, Vector and all interested parties, including the clients and neighbours, to ensure a good outcome for all.
