MSC is delighted to have been an integral part of the team that built a stunning residence in Karaka, winner of a Gold and a Gold Reserve Award in the CARTERS New Home $1 million – $2 million category of the House of the Year Awards 2017.
This stunning single-level residence in Karaka’s Harbourside Estate was built by Eden Homes. MSC Consulting was responsible for the structural design of the house, landscape retaining walls and block fence walls, working closely with Eden Homes and architects Glasgow Design. Any potential issues in the project are resolved early by considering structural, architecture and construction together, providing time and cost benefits for the client.
The use of block wall construction provides excellent thermal protection, structural durability, fire protection, and sound protection, and is especially suited to homes built, as this one is, close to Manukau Harbour. Located on a 930sqm waterfront section, this substantial 350sqm home has a grand entrance and areas for separate outdoor living. A large motor court leads to generous three-car garaging. A secluded living court with water feature completes the entry. Inside, a spacious foyer flows to the heart of the home, which is cleverly designed to provide visual connection to the waterfront views from the kitchen, dining, family and formal living rooms as well as the master suite and waterfront summer room.
